Tothill Finance is Doing its Part in McLaren Vale

​At Annette Tothill Finance, we’re pretty vocal about taking steps to improve and protect the environment that sustains us all – which is why it’s so meaningful that our efforts haven’t gone unnoticed. We are extraordinarily proud to be named Winner of the Professional & Business Services category at this year’s McLaren Vale Business & Tourism Awards. On top of this, we were also named in the Top 3 for the People’s Choice award!

It’s an honour to be considered so highly in the local community here, and we’re excited to keep on with our work in finding the right loans for our clients and doing our part for the environment.

So, what have we been up to recently?

Trees for the bees

Over the past four years, we have been steadily planting trees in an effort to provide a suitable habitat for our native bee population, something that we consider to be extremely important.

Did you know that Australia has over 1,700 different species of native bees? It’s true, native bees are fundamentally important to the native wildlife in Australia – without them, many of our indigenous and even cropped flora couldn’t exist. And as important as native bees are, they are slowly dying out due to a lack of suitable habitats, invasive species, and urbanisation of cities and townships.

So, to do our part to combat the slow decline of our native bee population and provide the fuzzy fellows with a place to live, we’ve planted 480 native trees in our own backyard behind the office. The whole team puts in an effort, and seeing the trees grow up with us is both exciting and heartwarming.
